Do not expect perfect symmetry: this series of bowls are an exploration of form and design, and as such are organic. Each piece is handmade and hand painted with underglazes carefully layered and covered with a dark wash to highlight the textures. The inside, with all of the layered undulations carefully preserved to create a play of light, is glazed with a pewter glaze. There is a playful conversation with the clay as each piece evolves and takes shape, almost like a jazz improvisation. By letting go of some control, delightful surprises arise.
